Tuesday - Salty!

St Matthew 5: 13

You are the salt of the earth.  But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?  It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

 

Why does Jesus call us the salt of the earth?  Salt is used to heal and to add flavour to cooking.  What does that have to do with the Church?

Prayer:  Creator God,  help our Church to continue to be salt of the earth --  to heal those who need healing and to gain knowledge of Your most Holy Word.  Be with our Elders are they continue to be our spiritual guides in our Church.  Grant them wisdom and love.   This we ask in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
