Saturday - encouragement

Isaiah 40: 28- 31 ...Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles;   they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Does this portion of scripture give you encouragement?  Why or why not?    For the Church today,  this portion of scripture gives great encouragement as our congregations dwindle,  as our  energy  sags.    This portion of scripture says to the Church today... to  remember that the Lord is the everlasting God,  the Creator of the ends of the earth.   God will never grow tired or weary.  Hurrah!

Prayer:  Holy God,  You are our strength and our source of life.  We thank You that You never grow tired and You carry all our burdens.  Help us this day to renew our strength and enthusiasm for Your Church and for sharing Your love.  This we ask in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
