Amusing Tuesday

Happy Tuesday.   Our D-Day Tea was awsome yesterday.  We had about 90 guests and even though both guests speakers were not able to attend,  we had an awesome time.  The Sea Cadets were fantastic.  Their Officers are a joy to work with and know how to push up their sleeves and help out.   The guests were given a one cup worth of Buckinham Palace Garden Party tea.. especially made by the Queen!
Although a Tea comes together with many hands working.  Special thanks to Husband Mine who did a lot of extra duties... and hauling... and washing dishes... and more.
Now to continue creating the exhibit for the Brandon Summer Fair for tomorrow....

Tuesday retreat....
Prayer:  Here we are God,  standing or sitting before Your Majestic presence.  You have given us the greatest sacrifice in the death and resurrection of Your son.  For this we will give You glory and praise all of ur lives.  Amen.

Read St Matthew  19: 13 - 15

The life of the family is central to Jewish understanding of community.  Here parents have brought their children to be blessed and prayers given by Jesus.  Saying a blessing and praying over children were part of the Jewish family rites.  Children too could ask for a blessings and a prayer at any time (heh heh heh... more than likely after breaking Mom's favourite mixing bowl.....)
the Disciples assume that Jesus is too busy to bless and pray over the children as this is something each father could do at home.  Jesus hears the Disciples turning the families away and say to the Disciples, "Let the children alone, don't prevent them from coming to me.  God's  kingdom is made up of eople like these"   Jesus then lays his hands on the children.
To the early Church, these verses were important for letting everyone know that no matter how young, children must be involved in Worship and the rites of the Church.

Prayer:  We give you humble thanks O Lord, that You have called us to the knowledge of Your grace and faith.  Increase in us this knowledge of faith so that we can reach out to the children in our Church and community and share with them a sheltering place in You.  This we ask in Jesus' name.  Amen.
Many blessings!
