Amusing Saturday

Happy Saturday.   This is the day chores get done -- or not.   Paperwork gets done -- or not.   Reading a book gets done -- definitely.  Listening to the Opera on the Radio gets done -- usually. Perhaps some quilting gets done -- or not.   But most importantly preparing our hearts for Worship tomorrow gets done.

Completing the Museum's  Income Charity report,   a Community Service application for Brandon School Division,  starting organizing the Museum's  June 4th  D-Day Tea,  completing the Army Cadets  Articles of Incorporation,   doing Version 3 of the Army Cadet Corps budget (when the Commanding Officer phoned and said, "We now have a third troop in September". Wow!), typing up the Constitution and By-Laws of the Army Cadet Sponsoring Committee,  and pushing other paperwork lead to me drifting over to the sewing table for breaks.   It was too wet and rainy to go for walks outside or work in the gardens.

The  Modern Quilt Guild QuiltCon block just kept calling my name.    I am really pleased with the way the block turned out but am disgusted with the quality of the white fabric.    It almost might was well be cheap cheesecloth.  Bummer.   But I really like the colours and the New York Beauty block is fun to sew!

Also I was amused again that I just can not do random.  Even when there are six colours to choose from,  I still get same colours lumped together.   Ideas anyone on how to randomize?   Even putting fabrics into a paper bag then pulling them up without looking what colour they are,  I still don't get random.   Amazing!   Thank goodness in the Kingdom of God we don't have to worry about randomization or not!  God gives us exactly what we need.

Preparation for Sunday worship.....
Prayer:   Great God,  teach us to follow Your decrees then we will keep them to the end.  Give us understanding and we will keep Your Word and obey it with all our hearts.   Direct us in the path of Your commands, for there we will find delight.  Turn our eyes away from worthless things so as to renew our life according to Your word.  This we ask in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Then Jesus asks the best educator question ever… he asks the disciples if they have understood what he was teaching.  The disciples say, “yes!”   Then Jesus tells one more parable to help their understanding:  “Then you see how every student well trained in God’s  kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it!”   (The Message  Matthew 13: 52)

Prayer:  Great God,  help us to turn to You today.   Renew our lives in Your righteousness this day.   May Your unfailing love come to us, O Lord,  Your salvation according to Your promises.  This we ask in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Many blessings!
